2017年1月21日~22日にニュージーランドのMangahaoのナショナルホワイトウォーターパークで2017年度最初のICF系スラロームレースニュージーランドオープンが開催されました。
この週のレースはU23とジュニアのセレクションレースです。
2017年1月28日から30日はシニアのオープンレースが開催されます。

NZ Open Championships PURPOSE
This document provides information and guidelines for the 2017 NZ Open Champs to be held at Mangahao, New Zealand on 20-22nd January 2017. Note: Exact times are subject to change with the final competition schedule posted at www.slalomnz.org.nz by the 20th January 2017

RULES The NZ Open Champs 2017 will be run in accordance with CSNZ and ICF 2017 rules.

COMPETITION FORMAT The following age groups and events are contested at the NZ Open Champs 2017;
• Open in K1M, K1W, C1M, C1W and C2M
• U23 in K1M, K1W, C1M, C1W and C2M
• Junior (U18) in K1M, K1W, C1M, C1W and C2M As per the ICF rules all competitors will have 1 qualification run with some athletes progressing straight to semi finals. The remainder of the field will have a second qualification run and this result will determine the final athletes who will progress to the semi finals.

Progression to the semi-final is as follows;
• Men’s K1 40 boats
• Women’s K1 30 boats
• Men’s C1 30 boats 3
• Men’s C2 20 boats
• Women’s C1 30 boats

Following the semi-final the top 10 boats will proceed to the final. The NZ Open Championships is one of the selection events for the NZ Senior, U23 and Junior teams. Extra invitational races are held to ensure NZ selection criteria can be met. NZ athletes, please see the relevant selection policies.

ENTRIES & ENTRY FEE The entry fee, which includes training on Thursday 19th is $100 per athlete with no limit on events entered. Entries close on the 7th January 2017 via the online entry system on www.slalomnz.org.nz. If you have any difficulties with this please email sueclarke@xtra.co.nz We would prefer that the entry fee is paid online before 15th January, please use your name as reference when paying using internet banking. Internet Banking Payments Bank Account Number: 03-0726-0636593-01 Bank Account Name: Environmental White Water Park Trust (EWWPT) If you are paying by cheque at the venue, please make the cheque payable to Environmental White Water Park Trust. Athletes from Federations who wish to earn

ICF ranking points must also get their federations to complete the online entry for these competitors only, via the ICF website at ICF Online entry. Maximum of 6 boats, for each event can earn ICF ranking points.

PROVISIONAL START LIST Provisional start lists will be posted on www.slalomnz.org.nz and at the venue on 16th January 2017. Please check carefully that athlete names and federations have been correctly shown on the provisional start list. Please notify pwasher@xtra.co.nz of any required changes. Start lists will be finalised at the Team Leaders meeting.

EQUIPMENT CONTROL Athletes are responsible to self check their boat and equipment prior to the competition and equipment to do the self check will be available next to the shed at the base of the control tower. A random selection of boats will be checked during the competition. Boats will be checked for weight, length & width and nose & tail dimensions. Buoyancy vests 4 | 2017 NZ Open Championships and helmets must meet ICF requirements.
NZ Open Champs 2017 athletes’ equipment will be measured against the requirements of the ICF 2017 Rules. Note the new rules for boat weight Athlete’s equipment that doesn’t pass a random check will be disqualified for that run (DISQ-R).

BODY NUMBER DISTRIBUTION Body numbers will be distributed on Friday 30 January from the event office. Body numbers will not be distributed unless the entry fee has been paid. Body numbers must be returned to the event office following the race prior to presentations. Any body number not returned will incur a $100 fee.

TIMING AND SCORING Timing is to 100th of a second. Timing will be electronic with handheld backup.

START AND FINISH PROCEDURES Competitors will be called to the start platform immediately the previous competitor has left the start. The start will be a downstream start adjacent to the start platform. There will be a 10 beep countdown to the start time.

START INTERVALS The start interval for K1W, K1M, C1M will be 60 seconds and 5 minutes between categories. C1W & C2M the start interval will be 90 seconds. This timing will be the same for the semifinal and final.

START ORDER Competitors will start in the reverse order of their latest ICF Ranking. Competitors without an ICF ranking will start at the beginning of the appropriate class. The start order for the semi-final will be the reverse of the order of the results in the qualification phase. The start order for the final will be the reverse order of the results of each respective semi-final. The start order will be in the same order as the start List. Competitors who arrive at the start late will not (subject to the decision of the Chief Judge) start.

FINISH PROCEDURE Competitors must not paddle back upstream across the finish line. Competitors must remain in the finish pool until dismissed

注目のカヌー女子一人乗りで優勝したケリートラバース選手を扱うメディア.

ケリー選手

彼女は2014年のU23世界選手権からインターナショナルレースのカヌーモノプレースに参加しています。シニアレースにも昨年から出始めていますが、成績は10~20位とこれからの選手。
昨年はワールドカップのPauとLa Seu d’Urgellに参戦22位29位でした。
2017年最初のレースで優勝したことでさらなるパワーアップがされた模様で、東京オリンピックへの代表選手になるやもしれない存在となってきましたが、そこには大きな壁ジェシカフォックス選手を越えなければならないという現実。超えれば金メダルはほぼ確実なのですが・・・。
