CANOE SLALOM PADDLERS SET FOR BRITISH TEAM SELECTION SHOWDOWN
Britain’s top Canoe Slalom athletes have just a few more days to make their finalpreparations, before taking to the rapids at the Lee Valley White Water Centre, as a crucialseason for those with Olympic aspirations gets underway. The UK Canoe Slalom Championships, which incorporates the British senior selection trials,run from 3 to 5 April 2015 with the country’s best paddlers comp eting to secure their placeon the team and give themselves a chance of World and Olympic glory. With only three places in each of the five classes (K1M, K1W, C1M, C1W, C2) up for grabs,there is sure to be some thrilling action on the Olympic course, which played host to theLondon 2012 Games. In addition to participation in the European Championships and the ICF World Cup series, a place on the team will guarantee at hletes entry to a home World Championships – the first time in 20 years, and the best op portunity to secure the ultimate prize of a Rio 2016 Olympic place
